Delectable Chocolate Cups

If you are in need of a simple treat, then this is the treat for you! Made up of just a few ingredients that you can easily grab at any market, and no baking required, all you need is the freezer! This treat is full of healthy fats from coconut oil, and almond flour,  contains the lovely super food cacao in the form of cacao powder, and is sweetened with honey which contains some beneficial nutrients! This recipe makes 6 large cups, which I have enjoyed making last by cutting into little bites and enjoying throughout the day! These are quite chocolatey and rich thanks to the cacao! So small bites are satisfying to me! However, I will leave it up to you on how you enjoy these,  please do whatever your little heart desires! ;) 

Delectable Chocolate Cups

Makes: 6 large cups 

Time: Approx 30 minutes 

Ingredients: 

Base: 

  • 1/2 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/3 cup coconut oil

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp honey

  • Dash of sea salt

Middle layer: 

Nut or seed butter of choosing

  • Sunflower seed spread

  • Cashew butter

  • Almond Butter

  • Peanut Butter

  • Chocolate Hazelnut Butter

Top layer: 

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup cacao powder

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions: 

  1. Combine all ingredients for base, and pour into muffin/cupcake tin. Regular size tin or mini works here ( mini = smaller cups but more of them!!). Freeze for 10-15 minute until solid.

  2. Remove from freezer and spread with nut/seed butter of choice. (I used sunflower seed spread, and a chocolate hazelnut spread. ) The more generous the spread, the more delicious they will be... ;) Promise!

  3. Combine the ingredients for the top layer, pour even amount over top of each cup, and freeze for 15 minutes.

  4. Carefully take a butter knife and scrape around the edges of the chocolate, gently bang tin on counter, use the butter knife to lift cups out of tin to remove, then ENJOY!

  5. Store in an airtight container in the freezer or fridge!
